Urgent Note from Child’s Play Learning Center – Changes of Schedule

Parents:

We need your help!

If you expect to deviate from your usual schedule by more than 15 minutes on any given day, please call or email us as soon as possible to ensure we have staff coverage to care for your children.

You may also complete a “change of schedule” form, which can be printed off of our website:  http://www.childsplayonsuperior.com/pdf/change_schedule.pdf

Recently, we have had several families arriving 1.5 hours – 20 minutes before their normal schedule and this creates significant issues for our staffing coverage!  We schedule our teachers according to how many children are expected to be at the center at specific hours of the day.  When a child arrives that much earlier than their scheduled time, we are not prepared for them!  This is not simply a staffing issue, we are required, by law, to have a specific number of teachers to children.  The only way we can prepare for changes is to know about them ahead of time.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

NOTE:  If you have not yet subscribed to the blog feature for our newsletter and announcements, please do so ASAP.  We will continue to send notices to both email addresses and subscribers through April.  By May, we would like to limit our communication to subscribers only.  Thank you for your willingness to help us harness technology.

New Beginnings: We are lucky to have such great parents and open communication with each and every one of them.

Pitter Patter: We are lucky to have such great families who show true, genuine concern and interest in their child’s daily activities while at Child’s Play. We are also lucky to have such a great support system Ms. Deb and Ms. Ann to help us out if we have any questions or concerns. It’s always great to hear them tell us, “Way to go, great job girls!” Finally, we are lucky to work with such an awesome team of co-workers, who come from many levels of daycare, many interests and a ton of experience. Together this is what makes Child’s Play such a great daycare and we are so lucky for this!

Little Wonders: We are so lucky to have a good work environment, good families and children.

Colorful Crayons:
Very nice families to work with who let us know in small ways that we are appreciated. Children in our class who really can make us laugh. We also love our neighbors the Little Wonders.

Stepping Stones: We are so lucky to have such great parents who are willing to get involved and participate with both of us and the children with our weekly themes. From remembering all the show ‘n’ tells, to working on projects at home with their children, to bringing in all sorts of materials and items that we are in need of. We are so lucky to have such amazing and accommodating families.

Helping Hands: We are so lucky to have such an awesome parent support system! We love being able to talk to our parents daily and work with them on a regular basis without our jobs aren’t complete! We are also lucky to have wonderful bosses who truly make Child’s Play the best!! We are so lucky to have amazing co-workers who help us by giving new ideas! Lastly, we are lucky to have our students who always put a smile on our face! They are the reason that we come to work and love what we do! Being able to watch them learn and grow makes us the luckiest teachers!

Leap Frogs: Children that are so excited to use team work and children that give us countless hugs all day long.

Little Learners: We are lucky to have a group of children that are so eager to learn new things.

Learning Lane- We are lucky to have co-workers to bounce ideas off of, and rely on when we are in need of help.

School Age: Kids who put a smile on my face and keep me laughing every day. Staff members willing to collaborate creative ideas with me.

MEET OUR STAFF  – Ms. Joy
Hi!!! My name is Joy Kohlman and I am to join the staff at Child’s Play. I have been working in the child care field since 1994, starting as a nanny. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and Recreation Services. I also had an in home day care for 9 years. My husband Chad and I have 4 children. We also raise sheep and chickens on a farm in the countryside of Plymouth. I also enjoy playing softball, volleyball and taking adventures. MEET OUR STAFF – Ms. Kailee
Hi, my name is Ms. Kailee. I have worked at Child’s Play for one year. I am currently the school age teacher. I love working with the school agers. They are so full of life and have many entertaining stories. In the afternoon I am fortunate enough to “float” from room to room and work with several different age groups of children. It truly brings me joy and puts a smile on my face every day to work with such amazing kids. I have enjoyed working with children for as long as I can remember.

I have been babysitting since I was about twelve years old. Outside of work I am a big sister for the program Big Brothers Big Sisters and I work in my church nursery. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing with my puppy, going to the beach and relaxing. I truly am thankful for the opportunity to work here at Child’s Play, as I believe hands on experience is the best way to learn and become good at something. Especially working with children I learn something new every day.
